Industrial Engineer Role

​

Ground breaking opportunity for the right individual.

​

Boston Blackstone Group in the Greater Boston Area has patented products and is looking for an experienced, energetic engineer to identify, locate/ source out machines and tools to build and optimize a manufacturing facility in Massachusetts, with the goal of taking the patented product from the concept/prototype stage to market.

 

Ideal candidate will have all or most of the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing environment.

  • Direct experience with vacuum tubes, plasma, and the field of electrical discharge tubes.

  • Experience and ability to optimize, from start to finish, the manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to ensure products are produced within budget and on schedule.

  • Ability to develop work flow, quality control and logistics: critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout, warehousing.

  • Ability to manage tasks and other employees.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Experience and ability to use robotics in the manufacturing or assembly process.

  • Ability to research, design, develop, improve the functionality and performance of the products while lowering cost.

 

Essential Duties:

  •  Draw/ select design tools and equipment, including concept development, analysis, design layout, prototype development and test.

  • Identify requirements for equipment, develop concepts, and work with other engineers, contractors, and assemblers to improve prototype models & final products.

  • Establish and maintain vendor contacts necessary for procurement of parts and materials.

  • In some instances, Government approval may be required. Candidate is to write specifications, design reports and equipment manuals.

  • Work with Sales and Customers in improving products functionality.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering.

  • 3+ years’ experience working in manufacturing/ assembly environment.

  • Candidate may be tested on his/ her knowledge of the following:

    • Heat transfer analysis

    • Feedback control systems

    • Stress and strain on material (and material stress relief)

    • Mechanical / thermal design of objects, mechanisms, dynamics of motion

    • Protective coatings, finishes and, mirror polishing methods
